It takes one switch and the process begins. For BirdPen who are Mike Bird and Dave Pen The Village became a place they created a few years ago; a place for them both to channel their artistic thoughts and musical ideas. Within hours they will create and write songs which have led them on to perform in front of thousands of people. From within the recording hub of The Village they wrote, produced and recorded their debut album On/Off/Safety/Danger, an album that has been described as - "An album to haunt the mind permanently", "A remarkable and exiting debut", and from Tom Robinson at the BBC, "The best 8 quid I've spent all year". Alongside excellent reviews for their debut album the track Airspace was also selected as iTunes France Single of the Week. From releasing On/Off/Safety/Danger Bird! Pen have toured the UK and Europe over the last 18 months. Their live performances are raw and full of explosive doom groove dark energy with Dave Pen's enchanting voice mesmerising the audience. 2011 has seen BirdPen on the road touring and playing festivals in mainland Europe. In recent weeks BirdPen have just finished recording the follow up to On/Off/Safety/Danger and are currently in the mixing phase working with Producer/mixer Jim Spencer.
